The week in sports
Nothing like an uncommonly good week in sports to ease the transition of moving. I had to point out a few things, in case you’ve been under a rock somewhere.
1.) The Houston Rockets have won 22 games in a row. Yes, the Houston Rockets.
2.) The Denver Nuggets scored 168 points in regulation vs. Seattle.
3.) The Georgia Bulldogs won four games in four days (two in one day, two that went to overtime) to win the SEC championship. Georgia finished last in the SEC East and needed the win in the SEC Championship Game to go over .500.
4.) A tornado hit the Georgia Dome.
5.) Tyler Hansbrough makes a shot with .8 seconds left to lift North Carolina over Virginia Tech in the ACC semis.
6.) Minnesota’s miracle.
7.) The Astros’ Kaz Mastui had surgery.
8.) Tiger Woods continued his undefeated streak in 2008.
9.) A personal favorite, Butler (29-3), got screwed in their tournament ranking (#7 in the East). Butler will have to beat South Alabama in Birmingham, then potentially Tennessee, Louisville, and North Carolina to win their region. (Note Xavier’s #3 seed after bowing out in the A-10 semis and potential second round cupcake Purdue.)
10.) My most important fantasy baseball draft took place today and went well.
Great warm up for the the “real” March Madness. Enjoy.
